If the image contains a colorcast in the midtones and also a gray object (perhaps a garment, furniture in an office, or a section of a building), you can also use the Set Gray Point Eyedropper tool (the middle one of the three inline eyedropper icons) in Levels or Curves. To use the tool, set its target color in the Color Picker by double-clicking the Set Gray Point button, and then in the HSB section of the dialog box, enter H0, S0, B50. Click the OK button to exit the Color Picker and then drag the tool across the gray object to neutralize the colorcast. The Set Gray Point tool works slightly differently from how the Set White Point and Set Black Point tools do. It takes the luminance of the source color and the hue and saturation of the specified target color and then alters the gamma values for each channel in an attempt to map the colors to the source color, in the process eliminating colorcasts without altering the tonal values. To avoid tonal clipping if applying the adjustment directly to a layer (not recommended; try to use adjustment layers at all times), immediately after leaving the Levels or Curves dialog box, choose Edit Fade Levels/Curves, select Color from the pop-up menu, and then click the OK button.
