There's no PDF support in C# , you need to find a library to do that, probably paid, but free ones exist. As I described earlier in this chapter when (briefly) discussing the GAC, it is possible to employ cryptographic principles and digitally sign an SSIS package. This is handled in a slightly different way from the average .NET assembly. Digital signing is a good idea because it provides security in that a signed package is confirmation that the package has not been illegally altered since it was signed by the author. This gives a certain level of confidence in the package s authenticity. The first thing to acquire is a digital signature. Most Active Directory domains have a certification authority that can issue a suitable certificate. Alternatively, system administrators are usually a good starting point to find out where to get a one from. Once a certificate has been obtained, digitally signing the package is easy.
