Using Tesseract from java - Stack Overflow
It gives instructions on how to build a java project to read an image and convert it into text using the tesseract OCR API .

So far, you have learned to work with individual pieces of data to produce some simple results. Realworld data is usually in lumps or groups, and it would be useful to work with such groups without having to make lots of repetitive statements in our code. Fortunately, Python provides a variety of data types that can make handling groups of data much simpler. The data types that are most used in Python are strings, tuples, lists and dictionaries. These are collectively called data structures. Strings are just pieces of text. Tuples and lists are ordered groups of individual data items. Dictionaries are groups of key-value pairs. Strings, tuples, and lists are examples of a particular data model called sequences. The methods used for accessing the data in a sequence are same, which you will see later in this chapter. There is another way of looking at these data types according to whether they can be modified or not, which is called mutability. Strings and tuples are immutable, which means that we cannot modify an existing string or tuple, although we can use them to create new strings and tuples, respectively. Lists are mutable, which means we can add or remove items from a list.

own device, you could destroy it. Purchasing a separate PCI board with USB sockets should provide some protection from mishaps.

We can fetch an individual item from a sequence using an index, which is the position of the element. The index is specified as an integer (a whole number) in square brackets immediately following the

For IR transmission, you need to know the specific control codes of the device you want to control. If you have a standard TV or video, this data is usually available online (http://lirc.sourceforge.net/remotes/); otherwise, you will also need to purchase or build an IR receiver to teach LIRC the existing codes. Fortunately, if you took the earlier hint and bought a RedRat, you will have a receiver built in that, along with the supplied Windows software or LIRC, can be used to program the codes directly. 16 LIRC is the Linux-standard method for reading and transmitting IR data. It comprises a standard daemon, lircd, and a set of tools to record the input messages and transmit them back again. It adopts a

Dec 31, 2016 · This Java code sample shows the functionality of how to create a simple client application using the ABBYY Cloud OCR SDK. It uses HTTP POST and HTTP GET methods for sending data to an HTTP server and allows you to use the processing power as you need with zero IT costs and no installation required.

modular approach to support the wide variety of LIRC devices available. Reproducing an installation guide here would be foolhardy, but suffice to say there are three main types of supported control: GPIO devices: These are generally supplied with TV cards, such as those from Hauppauge. The modules are usually compiled into the standard daemon build. Serial port device: This covers a wide range of different devices, including home-brew transmitters, and because they process serial data directly, they don t need any specific driver code. Typical circuits are available from the LIRC web site. If you re unsure about connecting your own electronics onto your PC motherboard, you can buy serial PCI cards, which offer a level of protection against rogue electronics. Kernel drivers: These, such as the RedRat3 device, require you to build LIRC from source and (in some cases) copy the new driver code into the LIRC directory. From here you can rebuild the setup (data2setup.sh) file and build as normal. These devices will make use of the /dev/lircd device, which should have ugo+rw privileges.

variable name So s[i] will retrieve the item at position i of sequence s This allows you to access a single character in a string: >>> fruit = 'apple' >>> fruit[0] 'a' or an item in a list or tuple: >>> fruits = ['avocados', 'bananas', 'oranges', 'grapes', 'mangos'] >>> fruits[2] 'oranges' The first thing you will notice is that indexing is zero-based; that means you start counting at 0 An index of [2] accesses the third item in the list, the first item would be referenced with [0] So you can use integers 0 through to the number of elements in the sequence minus one (0 to n 1) as indices Negative indices count backward from the end: >>> fruits[-1] 'mangos' You can grab sections of a sequence using slices Slicing is used to fetch multiple items from a sequence.
