All custom locale service providers must implement getAvailableLocales() to return the array of locales you wish to translate. The exact signature of the getDisplayName() method is dependent on what you are translating. Defining the class is only half the fun. You must then jar it up and place it into the appropriate runtime extension directory. To tell the system that you are providing a custom locale service provider, you need to configure a file for the type of provider you are offering. From the directory from which you will be running the jar command, create a subdirectory named META-INF, and under that, create a subdirectory with the name of services. In the services directory, create a file after the type of provider you subclassed. Here, that file name would be java.util. spi.TimeZoneNameProvider. It must be fully qualified. In that file, place the name of your provider class (again, fully qualified). Here, that line would be net.zukowski.revealed. MyTimeZoneNameProvider. Once the file is created, you can jar up the class and the configuration file.

The EnablePreventFocusChange value is the default setting at a form level. This is what produces the already described behavior of returning focus to the invalid control. The interesting possibilities are created by the Disable and EnableAllowFocusChange values. When you set AutoValidate to EnableAllowFocusChanged, the Validating event is raised and all validation processing takes place. However, focus change is not prevented if there is a problem. This is almost (but not quite) like removing the logic for setting the Cancel property from the event handler. The reason for the almost qualifier is that the problem with closing the form using the top-right button still exists, even when AutoValidate is set to EnableAllowFocusChange. Setting AutoValidate to Disable eliminates the raising of the Validating event. And without the Validating event being raised, the user can close the form as expected. But if the Validating event isn t raised, what s the purpose of putting any logic into the Validating event handler Well, there is a reason. By using the ValidateChildren method, the Validating event handlers can be invoked on the form manually. The ValidateChildren method iterates through all the controls in the form (or any other container control) and raises the Validating event. If the Cancel property is set to True in any of the Validating event handlers, ValidateChildren returns a False. But having Cancel set to False in one

For most Plug and Play hardware, you connect the device to the computer, and Windows XP Professional automatically configures the new settings. For non Plug and Play hardware, Windows XP Professional often identifies the hardware and automatically installs and configures it. For the occasional Plug and Play hardware device and for any non Plug and Play hardware that Windows XP Professional does not identify, install, and configure, you initiate automatic hardware installation with the Add Hardware Wizard. When you manually install hardware, you must determine any resources required by that hardware device. Hardware resources include interrupts, I/O ports, and memory. The Device Manager snap-in provides a list of all hardware resources and their availability. Device Manager provides you with a graphical view of the hardware installed on your computer, and helps you manage and troubleshoot it. Device Manager flags each device with an icon that indicates the device type and the status of the device. Windows XP Professional supports a number of different types of I/O devices, including the following:
