HSDPA performance requirements are de ned in [11]. In this text, the focus is on the single link performance of the HS-DSCH with a constant modulation and coding scheme. For the simulations shown here, it has been assumed that the return channel for HSDPA (HS-DPCCH) is error-free when transmitting ACKs/NACKs in response to a HARQ. In [11], various test channels are de ned denoted as H-Set1 to H-Set6 each describing di erent UE capabilities. These channels are called xed reference channels (FRCs). Here, we will only consider the rst test channel (H-Set1). The test channel de nitions are shown in Table 7.4. The minimum performance requirements for QPSK and 16QAM are listed in Tables 7.5 and 7.6, respectively. QPSK modulation is tested with own-to-other-cell-interference ratio Ior =Ioc values of 0 dB and 10 dB. The value of 0 dB corresponds to a location close to the cell edge while 10 dB is located in a clear dominance area of a single cell. 16QAM modulation is tested only with an own-to-othercell-interference ratio of 10 dB since 16QAM would not be used at a low Ior =Ioc value. Two HS-DSCH power allocations are considered: 25% of Node B power for HS-DSCH (Ec =Ior 6 dB) and 50% power for HS-DSCH (Ec =Ior 3 dB). We compare the link simulations with the 3GPP minimum performance requirements given in Figure 7.11 as a function of HS-DSCH power allocation. ITU Vehicular A multipath pro le at 30 km/h is assumed in Figure 7.11. The simulated results are

An initial setup such as that described above allows the implementation of the Ant build file to make a great number of simplifying assumptions, which enables reliable, repeatable, efficient administration of J2EE application environments. Consistency is also facilitated by a strong organizing principle within the Ant build file. Ant build files are composed of targets (conceptually similar to makefile targets, but specified in XML), which are categorized as main targets and subtargets. So, what set of targets is necessary in an Ant build file to accomplish J2EE application environment administration The answer, and organizing principle, is one main target (perhaps with supporting subtargets) for each step involved in the administration process enumerated earlier. Experience across multiple projects has shown this set of steps to be relevant and appropriate, regardless of which products have been selected for source code control, application serving, and database management. While the implementation details of certain steps may differ from product to product, the need for those steps does not. Therefore, let us examine in turn each step and its automation via Ant.

Berkeley economist George Akerlof received the Nobel Prize in Economics in 2001 for a famous paper he wrote called The Market for Lemons . The paper is all about asymmetric information and market failure, and it was especially memorable because Professor Akerlof used the market for used cars as his primary example. The used car market was interesting to Akerlof because it suffered from an interesting form of market failure: almost all the used cars for sale are lousy (lemons). What Akerlof correctly explained was that poor-quality vehicles, or lemons, dominate the market because asymmetric information drives away almost all sellers who want to part with high-quality used cars. To make the logic behind the result clear, imagine that only three kinds of used cars are available for sale: good, okay and bad. They all look the same on the outside and even test-drive pretty much the same, but they have major differences in terms of how much longer they re going to last before the engine gives out. Because of the difference in engine quality and how long the cars are likely to last, the good cars are worth, say, 15,000, the okay cars are worth 10,000 and the bad ones are worth only 5,000. The problem that leads to market failure is the asymmetric information that exists between buyers and sellers. In particular, although each seller knows how good their own car s engine is, the buyers have no way of knowing.

Before you pull out your Crop tool and start trimming away, you need to know what you are planning to do with your photo. If you might want to print your photo in more than one size, leave yourself plenty of workable area around the edges of your photo. Don t create a custom crop size that s so tight around your subject that you ll go in later to create a 5x7 print and find that you can t do it without cropping out part of your subject. Also be aware that standard print sizes such as 5x7 and 8x10 are different aspect ratios, so if you crop your photo to an 8x10 size, you ll have to trim the edges to make the same photo a 5x7. If you are printing the same photo in multiple sizes, save the original photo, using it to crop each size, and then save each cropped photo individually.
